How pickup works
When you decide to donate your RV or motorhome, our experienced team at Vision Wheels will handle all logistics to ensure a hassle-free pickup process. Most often, we use specialized RV-transport flatbeds or arrange for drive-away services, depending on the condition and location of your vehicle. If your RV is in a storage facility or RV park, we'll coordinate directly with them for a smooth pickup experience. It's also important to note that vehicle length and height matter—most states require a maximum clearance of 13'6”, so our routes are carefully planned to comply with these restrictions.
What drives donation value
The value of your donated RV or motorhome is influenced by several critical factors. The condition of house systems, including the roof, slides, plumbing, and air conditioning, plays a significant role and often drives value more than the drivetrain condition. Water damage can substantially decrease your vehicle's worth, while records of recent maintenance can enhance it. Additionally, the seasonality of donations matters—spring is a peak time for auctions, and appraisals are common, particularly for Class A vehicles. If you’re facing high storage costs of $150-300 per month, donating your RV can be a financially wise decision.
Documentation you need
- Vehicle title
- Bill of Sale (if applicable)
- Service records
- Appraisal documentation for classic RVs (IRS Form 8283 Section B)
Georgia specifics
In Georgia, it's essential to ensure that your RV or motorhome is properly titled before donation. The DMV has specific requirements when it comes to transferring ownership, especially for larger vehicles that may require additional documentation. Georgia typically issues titles for RVs, but a bill of sale may suffice in certain situations. It’s wise to verify current state regulations to ensure a smooth transfer process. At Vision Wheels, we can guide you through these requirements to simplify your donation.
